The G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance (G20 YEA) is a collective of leading entrepreneurship support organizations representing the G20 countries who seek to promote youth entrepreneurship as a powerful driver of economic renewal, job creation, innovation and social change.  Country members include: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, the Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the UK, the USA, South Africa and Argentina. The European Union is also represented in the G20 YEA.

The world faces an unprecedented challenge

Most economies are struggling to create enough employment for their young populations. Developed economies are caught between rising deficits, low rates of growth and high levels of unemployment that disproportionately affect youth. There are currently 1.8 billion youth, of which 90% live in developing countries and 2/3rds of those are underemployed. According to the latest ILO statistics there are currently 73 million youth unemployed, accounting for more than 50% youth unemployment in many countries.

Entrepreneurship is the solution

We believe a global problem needs a global solution. In 2010 we created an unprecedented new global network: the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance. The Alliance is working to promote youth entrepreneurship as a solution to the challenge of economic renewal. We believe that this global movement – and the energy and dynamism it will generate – can transform our societies and our economies.
